Kirsten
Linley, a USDF Bronze and Silver Medalist, offers full-training
and lessons at Somerset Farm in Winters,
California. Kirsten is also offering clinics on a limited basis.
Kirsten believes it is important to develop riders who can make their
own decisions so that when riders work alone, they can feel confident
in their ability to develop a light,
through and supple horse.
As a former yoga teacher, Kirsten stresses the importance a balanced
and supple body so that the rider's seat can
better influence the horse. She believes that the best trainers keep
both the welfare of the horse and the rider in mind when teaching.
Kirsten finds ways to positively explain things to students while
remaining creative and patient. |
In
2006, Kirsten was long-listed for the USEF High Performance
Intermediare-1 Championships on her 13 year-old Latvian Warmblood,
Remus. Kirsten also campaigned her 12
year-old Oldenburg, Maxwell, at the Prix St. Georges and
Intermediare-1.
Remus and Maxwel are currently schooling Grand Prix. Remus
will be campaigned at I-2 and Grand Prix during the 2007 show
season while Maxwell will be campaigned at I-1 and I-2 in 2007.
Kirsten will be debuting her five year old Hanoverian stallion, Royal
Airs by
Royal Diamond (Rubenstein) out of a Main Studbook mare by Donnerwerther
(Davignon) at First Level in 2007.
Kirsten believes that her greatest teachers have been her horses. Of
course, she has had quality instruction from a wide variety of
trainers. Currently, Kirsten works with Steffen
Peters.
